UMYU Postpones 2nd Post UTME Screening and Aptitude Test 2017/2018


This is to inform candidates who applied for admission into Umaru Musa Yar’adua University for the 2017/2018 Academic Session who had successfully registered or are registering for the 2nd post UTME screening and aptitude Test, that the University Management had approved the extension of earlier scheduled date for the screening & aptitude test from 25th November 2017 to 9thDecember 2017

The portal for the registration will be closed byThursday 7th December, 2017 while the aptitude test will hold on Saturday 9th December, 2017

The University is also inviting candidates who are indigene of the state that scored 170 JAMB Pointsand above that applied at other Universities and couldn’t secure admission and are interested in studying at Umaru Musa Yar’adua University to register for the screening and aptitude test.

Direct entry candidates are also informed to register online and come for the screening after they had gained admission in to the University.

All Candidates are to note that except for the change in dates of the screening & aptitude test and the Jamb score points for Non choice indigenes of the state, the information conveyed by the earlier notice on the exercise still stands.

JAMB Suspends Sales Of 2018 UTME Registration Forms The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has disclosed that it has suspended the sales of the 2018 JAMB application forms which was to begin on Wednesday November 22nd, 2017. This was made known by JAMB's spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin. According to him, the postponement was necessitated by the delay in meeting the agreed deadline by the publisher of the compulsory reading text meant for prospective candidates for the 2018 UTME which was supposed to be delivered on or before November 7th, 2017. “As at close of work today, the publisher had not provided the 1.8 million copies required and this development painfully forced to the Board to shift the date from Wednesday 22nd November, 2017 to a date to be announced soon. ”JAMB said it regrets all inconvenience occasioned by this postponement as it is working round the clock to announce a new date soon”, the statement said. This is to inform all candidates who have been offered provisional admission in the 2017/ 2018 UTME admission exercise that the clearance exercise will commence on Monday, 27 November, 2017. ASUP Indefinite Strike May Be Called Off Next Week

There are indications that the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, may call off its 10-day old strike next week. The Union has been able to meet with the Minister of Education and from what transpired in the meeting, it was a fruitful discussion. At the moment , process is ongoing for the Memorandum of Understanding to be signed. The union leader will be meeting next week to deliberate on the negotiations with the Federal Government so far and hopefully bring the strike to an end. Recall that ASUP commenced nationwide indefinite strike on November 13 due to the federal government’s failure to fulfill the outstanding agreement made with it.

WAEC Releases Nov/Dec GCE 2017 Result - See Statistics The West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) yesterday released the results of the 2017 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE November/December) for private candidates. This was announced by the council’s Head of National Office (HNO), Mr. Olu Adenipekun, at a news conference in Katsina. According to him, 135,945 candidates registered for the examination, but 133,223 wrote the test. A break down shows that 65,483 candidates obtained credits and above in five subjects and 46,824 obtained credits and above in six subjects.
