UI Acceptance Fee Payment And Clearance Procedure - 2017/2018

This is to inform all candidates who have been offered provisional admission in the 2017/ 2018 UTME admission exercise that the clearance exercise will commence on Monday, 27 November, 2017.

Candidates are, therefore, advised to proceed to the admissions portal on www.admissions.ui.edu.ng to pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of Thirty-Five Thousand Naira only (N35, 000:00) using the approved payment mode. Click to view timetable for clearance.

Candidates are requested to bring the underlisted documents for the clearance exercise:
1. Biodata and Acceptance Fee Forms to be filled online and downloaded from the University of Ibadan Admissions webpage
2. Institution and candidate’s copies of the Admission Letter (To be printed from jamb website)
3. Original and 2 photocopies of the UTME Result Slip.
4. Original and 2 photocopies of the credentials uploaded for the screening exercise - SSCE/GCE/CAMBRIDGE O/LEVEL. Presentation of credentials different from what was uploaded will lead to automatic disqualification.
5. Four (4) recent passport size photographs
6. Original and 2 photocopies of Birth Certificate and Immunization Card. Certificates issued by private hospitals and religious institutions are not acceptable.
7. Two letters of reference from two reputable persons on Letter-Head Papers
8. Original copy of payment receipt for N35, 000.00 Acceptance Fee
Candidates are advised to go online to download, fill and bring along for the clearance exercise the following forms at http://admissions.ui.edu.ng/biodata

JAMB Suspends Sales Of 2018 UTME Registration Forms The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has disclosed that it has suspended the sales of the 2018 JAMB application forms which was to begin on Wednesday November 22nd, 2017. This was made known by JAMB's spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin. According to him, the postponement was necessitated by the delay in meeting the agreed deadline by the publisher of the compulsory reading text meant for prospective candidates for the 2018 UTME which was supposed to be delivered on or before November 7th, 2017. “As at close of work today, the publisher had not provided the 1.8 million copies required and this development painfully forced to the Board to shift the date from Wednesday 22nd November, 2017 to a date to be announced soon. ”JAMB said it regrets all inconvenience occasioned by this postponement as it is working round the clock to announce a new date soon”, the statement said. ASUP Indefinite Strike May Be Called Off Next Week

There are indications that the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, may call off its 10-day old strike next week. The Union has been able to meet with the Minister of Education and from what transpired in the meeting, it was a fruitful discussion. At the moment , process is ongoing for the Memorandum of Understanding to be signed. The union leader will be meeting next week to deliberate on the negotiations with the Federal Government so far and hopefully bring the strike to an end. Recall that ASUP commenced nationwide indefinite strike on November 13 due to the federal government’s failure to fulfill the outstanding agreement made with it.

WAEC Releases Nov/Dec GCE 2017 Result - See Statistics The West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) yesterday released the results of the 2017 West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE November/December) for private candidates. This was announced by the council’s Head of National Office (HNO), Mr. Olu Adenipekun, at a news conference in Katsina. According to him, 135,945 candidates registered for the examination, but 133,223 wrote the test. A break down shows that 65,483 candidates obtained credits and above in five subjects and 46,824 obtained credits and above in six subjects.
