ASUP Indefinite Strike May Be Called Off Next Week

There are indications that the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, ASUP, may call off its 10-day old strike next week.

The Union has been able to meet with the Minister of Education and from what transpired in the meeting, it was a fruitful discussion.

At the moment , process is ongoing for the Memorandum of Understanding to be signed.

The union leader will be meeting next week to deliberate on the negotiations with the Federal Government so far and hopefully bring the strike to an end.

Recall that ASUP commenced nationwide indefinite strike on November 13 due to the federal government’s failure to fulfill the outstanding agreement made with it.
